Day 123 – 127
I am not sleeping much lately. I feel like if I don’t check my Facebook or Twitter, I am going to miss what’s happening in the world, especially what’s happening in Turkey. So every couple of hour, I wake up, a bit panicked, check my phone.

Day 117 – 122
Some of you may know, but most of you may not. I am from Istanbul, Turkey and for me Run Bubbles Run is a gateway to change this world and inspire others to do the same. I have been dealing with mixed emotions since Friday after waking up to a facebook page full of photos of my friends wearing scuba goggles, chased by the police while they were peacefully taking a stand to protect a gorgeous park in the middle of Istanbul. I got furious seeing the brutality my friends saw and experienced.

Day 110 – 116
Double dutying today. I had Bar Method during my lunch break and then hit the road for a quick 3 miler with Lilo after work. Oh I must say it must have been the funniest run ever, Lilo had an epic dog life lesson: don’t mess with 2 mama Canadian geese. They were barricading the seawall looking after their little ones, I had to run thru them, but Lilo… she goes for them, and this time, she got attacked big time. It was so funny. I don’t think she’ll dare to cross them in the future.

Day 106, 107, 108 & 109!

Day 106, 107, 108 & 109!
Running and Bar Methoding. Life is really busy again, working every day, long hours… Feeling tired but I see the light at the end of this mad life.
While we are busy with our hectic lives, there is chaos around us again. The latest tornadoes earlier in Texas and now in Oklahoma are another proof that nature doesn’t play games. One of the worst tornadoes in recorded history brought destruction today to the town of Moore, Oklahoma. As of tonite, 51 people are reported dead, including at least 20 children.

Day 102, 103, 104 & 105!
Run, rollerblade, Bar Method, and don’t neglect writing… Lots of things happened within the last couple of day. I’ve got to cast my first vote as a Canadian. I have been waiting to be able to vote for a while since I am not able to vote for Turkish elections being this far away. The sad thing is, now both of my countries have governments that I am not supporting. It’s an odd feeling to be honest. Maybe one day everyone who is eligible to vote will stop being lazy and actually perform their civic duties. It’s the same story everywhere in the world.

Day 95, 96 & 97

Day 95, 96 & 97
Rollerblading, running and Bar Methoding in order. I am absolutely taking advantage of the weather this week. Being outdoors is so refreshing and rejuvenating. Lately, the stress levels at work have risen again, and the work hours are getting longer and longer. Being able to fit some exercise to my day makes me a sane person. It’s like restart button for me. Feeling cranky and pissy? Go for a run! Half an hour later you will feel so much better.

Day 92 & 93 and 94!
What glorious couple of days in Vancity! It’s amazing to see the energy shift in people. Everybody is all smiles, soaking up the sun. It feels like we are done hibernating, we are all ready to play.
And huge congratulations to all who ran the half marathon or the marathon today. It’s a huge accomplishment, and you should be so proud of yourselves. Vancouver half marathon was my first ever race in my life as a runner. This race means a lot to me.

Day 91

Day 91
Lunch time Bar Method. I realized that I have been writing for the last 3 months, and still not fundraising. A bit crazy. Things are getting more manageable in my life and I feel like end of June or beginning of July is going to be the month where I am going to need all your support. Meanwhile, I am trying to share as many rescue groups in need of donations with you all. Live in the moment, and donate $10 or $20 to a charity that depends on your support. It’s a good feeling to help others. It gives you that nice warm fuzzy feeling inside.

Day 87 & 88

Day 87 & 88
8 miles trail run and a day off after. Finally managed to run Baden Powell from Deep Cove to Lynn Valley again this year. I have been planning on running this route since the rain eased out. It just takes a bit of logistics to organize this run. I have to catch a bus from home, and also have to time the bus home at the other end. For anyone who is curious about doing the same trail, here is a link to the trail map. I just managed to miss my bus home by 3 mins. It also started to rain at the same moment. I waited in the rain for 30min. It was NOT fun.

Day 80 & 81

Day 80 & 81
Bar Method and 4 miles trail run. It was such a glorious day today in Vancity. So mellow and fresh. A perfect day to remind ourselves how lucky we are to have access to clean air and fresh water. We live in a city where the air is so clear and the tap water is so delicious that it’s easy to take them for granted. There are lots of articles out there today, reminding us the importance of being green, being sustainable. And maybe even for a day, take some time out of your day to recognize the Earth’s beauty.
