Day 52

Day 52
Sundays are for recovering. And no Sunday can be without mimosas. The concept of “work hard, play harder” is feeling more like “work hard, play harder, try to function the next day” I feel like the second half of my 20s is so much harder than the first half. But still we all need to remind ourselves how important to balance work and life ratio.
Most successful individuals pursue out-of-work interests just as vigorously as they do their work.

Day 50 & 51

Day 50 & 51
Combining 2 nights into one once more. Life and work have been go go go lately but hey no excuses to miss a beat. Friday, lunch time Bar Method, today 4 miles run with Lilo + rollerblading in the sun with Vodka. Lots to write about today. I have been inspired by a lot of things recently. One of my good friend (Hi Kristy!) is taking a big step forward for a better world; a better world for animals who are neglected, abused and abandoned. I am so happy and so proud of her, I wish her actions will inspire many more.

Day 49

Day 49
I am catching up with all the resting I have been doing. 6am 5 miles speedwork with Vodka followed by lunch time Bar Method. My quads were just solid during the class. Lots of stretching before bed tonite.
It’s been a long day but it ended with couple of glasses of wine with good dear friends. So lucky to have such good company.

Day 48

Day 48
6am Bar Method. Up up up we go. My arms are just burning without me even moving them…poor turkey arms.
I am going to keep this one short. I just wanted to point out that I feel ripples of positive change around me. I see more and more people doing something for the causes their care about, volunteering, protesting, supporting… Doing something rather than watching the world go by. Hats off to you for taking action my friends.

Day 47
Lunch time Bar Method. Back in business. Not sure about you guys, but I miss my summer photos. The trails, the ocean side, color in general. These last couple of days I am finding it hard to capture anything colorful in my day. Where are the cherry blossoms and when can I start proper trail running again!? I honestly really miss the forest. I have a long run to do this weekend, might be a bit challenging to hit the trails just yet.

Day 45 & 46

Day 45 & 46
Double featuring today once more. I haven’t been active for the last couple of days, taking it easy and seems like I slacked on my writing as well. I watched a really interesting talk the other day and the ideas are definitely worth sharing with the world. The talk is about the way people think about charities and how non profit sector is not able to keep up with the profit sector. The non profit sector on its own is a market for love, compassion and affection. And how can you monetize that?

Day 44
Rollerblading with the girls. The pain on my leg is still there… I can’t find where it’s coming from but it makes me limp occasionally. So taking it easy, let’s see resting a bit makes a difference. I really don’t like injuries. Because I always go thru “5 stages of grief” over injuries. Deny, then get angry, then negotiate, fall into depression and finally accept the reality. So I am going to break the first step of denying by acknowledging the pain.

Day 43
Woke up @5.56am for a 6am class… Yeah didn’t really work out. I went for my 7 miler instead with Lilo. It was actually a super nice morning, I ran all around the seawall, the sky was pink, the ocean was calm. It was blissful. A good way to start Friday. I think I enjoy my running days way more than before since every run is really specific and different. I concentrate more on myself, my breathing, my form. Just 3 days a week of running for a marathon training. You can do it too. Quality over quantity.

Day 42
Declared as this week’s rest day. I have some pain on my leg, so I am taking a day off to see if it goes away on its own. Couple of nice things happened today. First, I got a donation from a friend for Search Dog Foundation. It’s such a hopeful feeling to have people who feel generous and do something kind out of the blue without anyone asking them to do so. Hats off to kindness like that. And he donated last year to the same cause while I was actively fundraising. I also received my election listing in the mail today as a new Canadian.

Day 41

Day 41
6am Bar Method. Another early morning… There was a new instructor in the class who was a bit too loud for my taste that early in the morning. And yeah she made us all shake big time. Going back to bed after the class is just the highlight of my day, or the reason why I get up that early.
Today I dropped off the girls at the daycare and apparently they had an agility workshop and they wanted to see how Vodka would do. She was spectacular apparently. That’s my girl.
