16miles trail running at Baden Powell Trail starting from Deep Cove.
I was feeling adventurous today, so I took the bus to Deep Cove. I have never been to Deep Cove before and I heard so much about it that I thought I should take advantage of a sunny day to visit the area. I decided to follow this map from Vancouver Trails website.

Happy Easter everyone! Such a nice feeling to have a weekday off, especially a Friday. No running for me today, I have this strange bump on my left foot, so I took it easy at the gym. I try to keep it elevated and ice it couple of times as well. I got a 16 miler to run this weekend, can’t afford an injury really.
I am thinking doing half day snowboarding @Whistler, and then do the 8 miler around the lake in the afternoon.

6.30am 4 miles run with Lilo. Pretty nice morning out there today. I was really sleepy, it took me a mile to actually realize that I was out running.
Good thing today is like a Friday to us in North America. Long weekend, I am so ready for it!

6am 5 miles run with Vodka.
What a beautiful morning in Vancouver! Even though my stomach wasn’t ready to run this morning at 6am, I had a decent run. I managed to run those leftover 3 miles after work yesterday as well. Running actually helped my sore legs to feel better. So no complaining.

6.45am 1 mile jog with Lilo. I don’t count this morning. I woke up a little later than usual, and my legs were just so stiff that I ended up jogging a little with Lilo. I am giving my legs a little bit more rest during the day, I’ll head out again after work. I shouldn’t have rollerbladed yesterday. From now on, rest day is for resting not having fun.

Monday is rest day, it’s my new favorite day. As expected my legs are a little disfunctional this morning, and my back hurts a little as well. Yesterday, a pile of snow from the trees fell on me while I was running, I think my back got a little cold from that.

1pm 8 miles Lynn Peak trail run.
This was probably the most challenging and amazing training run I have ever had. It kicked my turkey bum (big time) but it was so worth it. It was my first time at this trail so didn’t know what to expect in terms of terrain and elevation. I am glad I didn’t take one of the sidekicks with me, the terrain is really rough and there was so much snow half way!

A little late start this morning. It’s cross training day, the sun is out so I am thinking some rollerblading with the girls after work today. Feel free to join me if you like.
Since it’s Friday, since we all need some good inspiring story to make us feel a little bit better, I am going to share Pearl’s story. Once a rescue, now a rescuer.

I am not going to count this morning’s run. I was out for half an hour but didn’t even record my run. I need to run after work with Vodka. I just believe a bad run is better than not running, that was the only reason I left the house this morning. I wasn’t feeling good last night, felt like I can eat a ginormous burger and probably finish a pitcher of margarita on my own. I managed to have something a little healthier and stopped with a glass of margarita.

6.15am 4 miles easy run with Lilo.
Not a bad morning in Vancouver. It gets lighter really quickly after 6.30am as well.
