10am 9miles run on Baden Powell Trail from Grouse Mtn. to Lynn Canyon and back.
Pretty sweet run today. I only got lost once. I wasn’t really lost, just I was going the wrong way 🙂 Thank you Thierry for that app recommendation, it really helped me finding my way around today.

A bad run is better than no run. Some days I feel so in the zone, miles just disappear. Not today. I started my weekend a little too fast last night and I am suffering from it. Lack of sleep, increased level of stress at work, a little too much to drink… Bad combo. My legs just didn’t want to move today, leaving the house was so hard. But I knew the guilt wouldn’t leave me if I skipped, so I went out. It wasn’t pretty, fast nor long. But a run is a run.

6pm 5 miles run with Vodka. Dogs are so fun. I had a long day at work, came home, started getting ready to head out for my run. Both Vodka and Lilo got so excited seeing me putting on my running shoes. Dogs just live in the moment. They forget that they were at home all day sleeping, and their mom was mad at them for tipping over the laundry basket. Their enthusiasm and energy is contagious. So happy to be out, doing something fun.
A little history today.

6pm 4 miles with Lilo. Today was another day where I had to make a deal with my brain early in the morning. I woke up at 5.30am, left the bed right away. Then the couch called my name, that’s when I made the deal. Run after work, go to work early. It was a stressful day at work; running in the rain inside Stanley Park with Lilo was just what I needed to decompress.

Monday, is off day. Not feeling a bit sore from this weekends runs. Surprising to be honest. My calves were hurting really bad yesterday. Another week of training starts. I will enjoy my day off dearly.

12pm 4miles run around Cypress Mountain. Wow what an experience today. I blame the mountain bikers for today’s chaos. Ollie was going snowboarding to Cypress Mountain today and I asked him if he can drop me off half way since there are trails going all the way to the top of the mountain and I thought it would be a fantastic exercise. This map seemed quite straight forward. Take skyline trail and then up on Baden Powell. Not so much…

6am 17 miles solo long run. Then go to work. Yes you guessed it right, it aches, my legs get stiffer and stiffer with every passing hour. I stayed in the cold icebatch for 15 minutes drinking my chocolate milk before work. My legs better NOT be sore tomorrow for the 9 miler.
I was hoping to find donuts, instead there were bubbles and orange juice. Even better.

Since I didn’t go for a run after work yesterday, I woke up real early to get going. 6am 4miles run with Vodka. Such a lovely morning here in Vancouver; there were some gorgeous looking cloud formations. My stomach wasn’t ready for the run, so I had to rush back home. You runners, you know what I mean.

I woke up late again, it’s going to be an after work run as well. Today it’s an important day for National Search Dog Foundation. Today is the 17th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing. I remember watching the rescue operations on TV, I was 12 years-old and I remember reporters talking about the daycare that was in the building. Lost of innocent kids were buried under the rubble.

6pm 6 miles run with Lilo. I made a deal with myself this morning at 5.30am. I said, if I don’t go for a run this morning, I will go to work early and then do my run after work. It was really easy to convince myself to stay in bed for an extra half an hour, but I was at work @7.30am. Once I convinced my brain that I am not physically tired to go for a run after work, I was quite pleased with my run. Lilo sure did too, she LOVED her mini-swim session.
