Rest day. Oh how much I appreciate my rest days. I appreciate having the time to think, regroup and just time to take it slow, breathe. Normally we move too fast, trying to fit everything we need to do, things we need to check off our list. We rush to get things done. Sometimes we hurt the people we wouldn’t or say the things we shouldn’t. We do things that we simply don’t mean to.

77 Days to go
6am 22 miles long run.
I managed to wake up at 5.15am this morning, and hit the road early. I even took the girls out for a quick walk before I head out. Feeling really dedicated, I decided to go for a different route and see what it will bring me. I am so glad I did that. I crossed the Lions Gate bridge and I discovered Ambelside seawall and the whole West Vancouver community.

Happy Friday to you all.
Today was my cross training day. We have Ollie’s brother visiting from New Zealand for the weekend so my cross training consisted of walking around the city all day today. Not the best day in Vancity in terms of weather but at least we stayed dry.
I will keep this one short since it’s Friday, I am sure you all need the time to unwind from the week.
79 Days to go
10am 8miles run.
First of all; thank you so much to those who heard my cry last night and donated. You guys are awesome. Thank you for proving that I am not alone in this and you got my back. I can’t express how important it was for me to pass the $1000 mark.
It made it so much easier this morning to catch the bus to Deep Cove to run Baden Powell once more.

3 miles run with Vodka. I took Vodka to the Cleveland Dam, thinking that I am familiar with the trails around the canyon. Doh, obviously I am not. I didn’t get lost but I found new trails, which were fun and experience. It’s a bit trickier to run with Vodka on the trails, she likes to lead but sometimes she doesn’t pay enough attention to the terrain.

Monday rest day. Today, I had to put the cone on Lilo. She injured her paw running last week, and she has been licking it since. I was putting on an ointment and I was asked to make sure she doesn’t lick the ointment. Right.. So I didn’t want her to deal with the cone and I trusted her, but after a week, she kept licking and licking so today she got the cone. She is not happy of course.

12.30pm 10 miles run.
Short post today. Things seem to be stabilized today and we didn’t have any emergency situations.
Thank you all for all the get well wishes. Ollie is doing so much better today. We eliminated all the things that he can be allergic to, and penicillin seems to be the winner.
84 Days to go
Not having a great day today. We are taking it easy in our house, we had some unexpected events. Ollie suffered from an anaphylactic shock after taking his prescribed antibiotics preceding his dental surgery. We needed to spend 4 hrs at ER bringing him back to normal.
When you visit the ER downtown, it gives you a whole new perspective in life.
Nothing matters when you don’t your health.

6 miles 9am run with Lilo. I took the girls to the park this morning rather than taking them for a swim. I wish I can hang a piece of cardboard to their neck saying: “We are retrievers, if you run away, we’ll chase you forever” so that other dogs and owners can read. They just won’t stop chasing a shy dog if the dog keeps running. Story of my life, I chase 2 crazy labs chasing another dog.

I am sooo tired. 2.30pm 4 miles solo run.
I just wanted to run the beginning of Baden Powell Trail at Grouse. Little I’ve known, the beginning of that trail is almost like the Grind but without the stairs. I guess I asked for more branches and rocks instead of stairs. I got enough, thank you very much. Such a narrow trail too. I am glad I listened to my instinct and didn’t bring one of the girls with me.
