Day 34

Day 34
6am Bar Method. I am glad I am up early this morning, I have a lot of paperwork to go thru before going to work, at least I am pretty awake after a class of intense booty work!
Anyhow, today I just wanted to write about the importance of search and rescue dogs and also remind everyone how amazing National Search Dog Foundation’s work is.
I am sharing the photo of a newly certified search team. Search & Rescue dog training is extensive, exhaustive and intense for both the animal and the trainer. However, the reward is a remarkable animal that is extremely valuable in terms of saving human lives.

Day 22

Day 22
5.45am 5 miles tempo run with Lilo. Such a nasty nasty day out there in Vancouver. I woke up @5.30 and believe me, it was pretty damn hard to convince myself to leave the house and face the pouring rain! I mean it is pouring outside, and it’s windy as well. But surprisingly, I had a pretty sweet run, felt really strong and actually had a quality run. I feel like high fiving myself right now for my little achievement before work.

Day 18
6am Bar Method. Who doesn’t like getting up at 5am on a Monday morning? Delightful. Not gonna lie, it feels good to be done with the day’s workout at 7am.
Last night at dinner, we were with a friend (Hi Impey!) who just came back from his home country South Africa and was telling us how the rhino poaching just peaked again and how sad and shocking it is. So today let’s talk about what poaching does to animals, to our environment.

Day 13
Lunch time Bar Method. I am getting used to these lunch time power hour workouts. But clearly, they are not as nice as my lunch time naps…Because my naps are to die for.
Since yesterday was Darwin’s birthday, I was thinking about evolution and empathy. I was reflecting about the evolution theory and there are things that I need to do more research about. Like why do people do good things if it is the survival of the fittest? (which was not stated by Darwin but by the philosopher Herbert Spencer)

Day 12
6am Bar Method. I almost did want to skip my class this morning, pretend I didn’t hear the alarm @5.30am. Discipline my friends, is doing what you know needs to be done (even though you don’t want to do it at that very moment). I came across this thumbler feed today; Lie to me, daily dishonesty Don’t we all have these kind of little lies everyday? Like mine would be “just one glass”. Oh geez, after writing this, I saw this one wine. Now you go and have fun browsing.

Day 7
6.30am 2 miles run with Vodka.
I slept in. I didn’t hear my alarm and woke up at 6.20. When you are short on time, you do speedwork. Vodka loves speedwork anyway. It’s a nice morning out there, a bit windy but that’s how you get the clear sky.

5 Days to go

5 Days to go
Repeat, 5 days to go. I have a feeling we’ll be passing last year’s amount tonite. What do you say? I hope so. I know we need a major sponsor to reach $10000 at this stage, but passing last year’s amount, it would feel good you know.
Tonite I am just reminded once more that, us, ordinary people who go to work every day, us who complain about our dishwashers here and there, us who go mental when it’s sunny and who go mad when it rains; we are just capable of doing great things when we get together.

8 Days to go
I can’t thank you all enough for all your kind messages and encouraging words today. And of course also all your donations… It has been great, I am so happy to see so many of you supporting my cause and actually take the time to read and care about things. Big love from the bottom of my heart.
Today I need to share another story with you, since I have been asked for help from a dear friend who actually run an animal rescue organization himself (Let’s Adopt)

23 Days to go

6.30pm 12 miles solo run. I am not sure what happened to my life that it felt ok to run a half marathon distance after spending 8 hrs doing fluids simulations at work. I questioned that when I was around mile 7 which happened to be by the 3rd beach in Stanley Park where everybody was just chilling by the beach, eating, drinking and soaking up the sun.
I think everything started with me wanting to challenge myself couple of years ago. Then realizing that there is a bigger picture out there, I wanted to have deeper and meaningful intentions about how I live.

30 – 31 Days to go

Its an important day today. I'll be running 50 km on the mountains in a month. Exactly in a month; August 19th.

First day being back, my system is so confused with the hours and weather that I really can't tell if I am hungry, full, hot, cold, sleepy or energetic anymore. This afternoon was one of the most difficult time I had to stay awake… Oh boy, it felt like I can have the sweetest sleep. Read more
