Day 27

No Comments Community, Family, Life, Running

Day 27
6am Bar Method. I am sore. My hamstrings are killing me right now. I wanted to do some yoga tonite, then I felt like I can’t really bare any more activity today. I slept for half an hour during lunch time, just like a kid.
Today, it’s been 2 years since I lost my great-grandma. It is strange how it feels. It feels like it’s been ages, but at the same time, it feels so recent. She was real close and dear to me and I miss her presence very very much.

Day 21

Day 21
Lunch time Bar Method. Lesson learned: don’t go to the pregnant instructor’s class. Not sure if she is hardcore because she is pregnant, but I don’t remember hurting this much in a Bar Method class before. She kinda killed us all in the class. So today is day 21. Research shows that it takes 21 days to develop a habit. That’s 21 days of exercising in some way every day, 21 days to meditation, 21 days to eat healthily, 21 days doing, 21 days of anything. All I can say, I am used to waking up @5am after 21 days.

Day 14

Day 14
6am Bar Method. Ouch. 3 days in a row of this with no running in between is hurting me a bit. Good thing, the girls are still pretty pooched from their stay over with Wagababa folks, I don’t need to take them for long walks.
They are all cuddly and cute when they are this tired. I appreciate every moment of it.
Talking about cuddles and cute stuff, happy “spread the love” day everyone.

Day 11

Day 11
Taking a stat holiday break and not doing any physical activity today. Rest day, it’s an important thing. It’s our first family day in BC. Coming from a small family, I have always been really close to my family. Now I am living in a different country, creating my own little family surrounded by love, friendship and mutual respect.
I think there are couple of values, or principles that should surround a family life to create that strong tight connection between the members of the family.

One month AFTER

One month AFTER

I knew I can’t write this post without going for a run beforehand. It’s been a month with no running; putting on my running shoes (oh my dear running shoes) felt absolutely nostalgic. They were still covered with mountain dust, sweat and tears… It felt great to be out again. I have been rollerblading and biking lots since the race but to be honest I can’t wait to go back to running. Especially winter running.

Race day and the day AFTER

No Comments Community, Family, Friends, Running

Wow what a journey that was!

It’s been 2 days now and I think I am a bit rested now. Still sore, and covered with awful awful mosquito bites but at least I was able to function like a normal person yesterday.
This race was the most challenging thing I have ever done in my life. And I think it can be the last challenging thing as well. I am not sure if I can push the limits of my body and mind more than this. It was a tough 10 hours on the mountain, on my own, no access to civilization.

LAST Day before the race

LAST day!

We counted down from 152 days! It feels like yesterday… 5 months of training and now I am packing my bags. I have everything I need; awesome support team, lots of supersonic energy gels, medical kit, survival blanket, whistle, bear bell, gatorade, and water… And fresh legs and excitement. Bring it on 30 miles. We are saving lives doing this! Who is afraid of a little pain, I know victory tastes really good afterwards.

6 Days to go

11 miles at 7am. So hot out there. I am not loving this whole running in the summer thingy. I prefer dressing up, and embracing the rain and the cold. When it’s hot, you don’t feel like you are getting enough air or something… 6 more days to go…
Today is an extra special day in our household. It’s the bitches birthday. They are supposed to be seniors now. Not a chance… still a puppy at heart.

I can’t thank you all enough for all your kind messages and encouraging words today. And of course also all your donations… It has been great, I am so happy to see so many of you supporting my cause and actually take the time to read and care about things. Big love from the bottom of my heart.
Today I need to share another story with you, since I have been asked for help from a dear friend who actually run an animal rescue organization himself (Let’s Adopt)

9 Days to go

9 Days to go

7pm 4 miles run with Lilo. I went to my happy spot again after tonite. I just love that trail, it’s up and down along the water…
I guess today’s biggest announcement is the video that we published today. It wasn’t an easy thing to do, it took a lot of work to record myself (and also it’s funny to record yourself when you run), Ollie offered his help with editing. And voila, we have a video.
