6am Bar Method class. Oh Monday mornings are hard, but at least now its over! My legs were still tired from the weekend, so there were lots of shaking in the class. Anyway, today I want to write about something a bit different. It’s Meatless Monday and I am trying to commit to it. We have been reading lots of things about horse meat mixing into the equation lately, so how about reflecting a bit about our food choices?
I am not a vegetarian. I don’t like eating red meat. Or duck, or rabbit or ham etc.

7am snowshoeing with the girls, then 4 miles tempo run in the afternoon. Oh we had a blast on the mountain this morning with the girls. I woke up early, drove to Cypress. We were there at 7am, first car to park -it’s a rare thing believe me. I let the girls run and be wild since we were the only ones on the snowshoe trails. It was a blast, the sun was shining, clear blue sky, me and the girls just enjoyed the snow before the city woke up. Annnd, they slept for the rest of the day in the sun at home. Not bad eh?

10 miles long run in the afternoon. What a day for kiteboarding in Vancity! The wind was unbelievable. I am still not brave enough to face the Canadian waters in March but I have seen couple of kiteboarders having a blast in the city. I had to run against the crazy wind for 5 miles. It felt like whenever I take a new step, I was going backward, or like being on a treadmill. My way back home was delightful with the wind pushing me forward with every step.

Too much wine on Thursday night but still got up on time for the 6am Bar Method class. We did 45 pushups before 6.15am! Argh… sweet sweet sleep where are you?
This weekend is going to be all about catching up with life, decluttering, going thru closets, donating “things” that have been sitting waiting for a chance to be used…
it’s not something to look forward to on a weekend, but it always feels great once you are done and dejunked your life.

Lunch time gym! Crazy stuff! I never go to the gym, I am such a tourist at the gym! i slept in this morning, woke up @4am then decided (yeah really) not to leave the bed and it was 7 when I actually woke up. My motto is “no matter what, sweat every day” so I went to the gym during my lunch break. The gyms smell funny, but hey, I sweated.
Last day of February, it feels like it was just new year’s eve and look, it’s been 2 month already! 2013 is going fast.

6am Bar Method. I am sore. My hamstrings are killing me right now. I wanted to do some yoga tonite, then I felt like I can’t really bare any more activity today. I slept for half an hour during lunch time, just like a kid.
Today, it’s been 2 years since I lost my great-grandma. It is strange how it feels. It feels like it’s been ages, but at the same time, it feels so recent. She was real close and dear to me and I miss her presence very very much.

Lunch time Bar Method, and 7pm 4 miles speedwork. You can say I was punishing myself for taking a day off yesterday. I am a bit dead tired right now.

Monday, day off. Today I felt like I needed to take a day off to give myself a break to recover properly. I woke up way too early and decided to hit the snooze button to force myself to take it easy and listen to my body. I am glad I did it, I feel much better today and ready for the running ahead of me this week.
Today I want to emphasize once more the power of a small group of thoughtful, committed individuals.

Midday hot yoga. It’s been a busy busy weekend. Lots happening today; the oscars, brunch with friends, gathering in the rain to raise awareness and showing solidarity. After watching the oscars last night, I decided to write about the importance of appreciation in our life.
I do visual effects for movies in my daily life and it’s something I love doing. No question about it. For those who is not in this industry, we make pretty pictures and make people believe in movie magic.

Snowboarding @Whistler Blackomb. You may think I was slacking yesterday by not posting. But in fact, we woke up @4.30, walked the doggies, then drove to Whistler to be there @8. That was early even for me. It was all worth it, amazing powpow day before the crowd showed up. Sunny sky…
Ollie says I should write about getting out of our comfort zone and pushing our limits, because today was one of those days for me.
