Day 106, 107, 108 & 109!
Running and Bar Methoding. Life is really busy again, working every day, long hours… Feeling tired but I see the light at the end of this mad life.
While we are busy with our hectic lives, there is chaos around us again. The latest tornadoes earlier in Texas and now in Oklahoma are another proof that nature doesn’t play games. One of the worst tornadoes in recorded history brought destruction today to the town of Moore, Oklahoma. As of tonite, 51 people are reported dead, including at least 20 children.

Entire neighborhoods have been leveled; 500 homes have been reduced to piles of rubble. Search Dog Foundation teams are deployed to look for any survivors buried under the rubble. Currently, all Oklahoma City handlers & Search Dogs Salsa, Jagger and Elvis have been deployed to Moore, OK. And last week, SDF Search teams of Keri Grant & Tucker and Laurel Pitman & Sonic spent hours in Texas combing through hundreds of homes, ball parks and piles of debris…It was Sonic’s first deployment. Laurel Pitman & Sonic had been preparing for this moment since black Labrador Sonic was rescued from a Las Vegas, Nevada shelter by SDF Trainer Kate Davern.

So when you read the news tonite, and see the photos of the devastation created by powerful natural forces, think of all the first responders who are there to save as many lifes as they can. And also think about the shelter dogs who had a chance to become heroes looking for survivors under the rubble.
We may not have the chance to change the forces of the nature or predict all disasters, but we have the ability to choose to help others when they are in need, and we have the ability to transform an abandoned animal into a hero who saves lives.
We can do great things. We just have to take the time to read, learn and do something.
