66 Days to go

Today, I became a Canadian.
Now I am proud to say I am a citizen of two completely different but two countries that complement each other. Turkey and Canada are so different in many ways but it feels like they form a beautiful alliance.
Being there at the oath ceremony was just a memorable experience for me today.

Unfortunately my cold is not getting any better, and I am feeling quiet sick today. It’s a shame really since I was looking forward to celebrating this day with friends and do all sorts of Canadian activities. I guess the weekend is just around the corner.
On the other hand, the girls are back home. I missed them so much. They missed their bed more than they missed me 🙂 Vodka was standing and sleeping at the same time while I was cuddling with them. It’s the “no no I am not sleepy” mode. Lots of snoring and dreaming in our household tonite.

During the ceremony today, the citizenship judge was specifically emphasizing the importance of community work and the importance of helping one another.

It was touching, and it was so true. We, as members of a society need to help those who are less fortunate than us. It doesn’t have to be monetary help. It can be just having an eye contact with a homeless person or volunteering at a community service.
It’s a really rewarding thing to do. It makes communities stronger and it makes the world function better.
Lots of love, eh?. xo
