90 Days to go

5.30 pm 6 miles solo run. I was supposed to run 10 miles today but I had to keep it short since it was getting a bit dark in the trails. I decided to run the Capilano Loop today, what a treat it was. I just can’t believe we live so close to this much beauty and we don’t fully take advantage.

I used to be a city girl, running around the seawall now I just love the trails and what they are offering. The dam is so mind blowing, being so close to so much water is just amazing. It makes you feel so small compared to everything around you. It was a rainy foggy run tonite and I think if I had to choose, I would choose this weather for this trail.
It was so quiet and green. The rain definitely increases the saturation of every color in the jungle. It was slippery but whatever, that’s the game. I noticed that I am zoning out more often on the trails now and I can still hop around like a bunny.

It started to feel natural. It’s nice to feel the progress as I keep running on different trails. Vancouverites, if you have time tomorrow, since it’s a day off for us, you should visit the dam. It’s free to park, really easy to navigate and it’s not a really challenging trail. The sound of the river is such so relaxing. I saw couple of other runners and they had headphones on. I don’t get that at all. The nature offers so much more than that.

I had to stop so many times to take a picture, I took a lot. I will share some more tomorrow as well. At every stop I was like, “Oh I wish I had somebody to share this view with me right now”. Bunch of wows from me today along the run.
My legs are bit sore from yesterday’s run, I am sure they will be more sore tomorrow, I had to climb some stairs to get to the car. I may just do heaps of stretching tonite. The weird thing is I have such sore shoulders from carrying my backpack. I start with 2 litres of water and couple of granola bars/gels. I can’t express how painful my shoulders are today.

Anyhow, I hope you guys had a great weekend. Mine has been great so far. Lots of catching up with friends, plays at the park with the girls, quality time at home…

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense.”~Ralph Waldo Emerson 1803

I am done with my day, did everything I needed to do. Feeling satisfied but also hungry for a new day tomorrow.

Sending you guys a big hug.
